My fairest, your fairest city in the World
What makes for a livable city? That question is the nub of this project - with the contention that there isn't such a thing as the ideal and most livable city! Far from it, every one has their very personal ideas and expectations about the ingredients that make for living quality in citites.
Likewise, the numerous yearly recurring contests and pertaining studies, that hand out crowns to cities in the form of rankings, provide only inadequate answers to that slippery question. Frequently the surveys are slanted towards economically determined, quantitative aspects of urban living quality and ignore emotional factors and other, "soft" criteria. The quantitative, economically-weighted criteria will, then, be easily taken out of context and appear in the public eye as the only determinant generally desirable living qualities of a city. Our real-life experiences, however, are much more multi-facet. Therefore, we venture a second look at the question of what renders a city livable. We watch everyday urban life scenes and attempt to distil from them other, frequently not numerically measurable parameters of urban living quality.
